#Showbiz: BlackPink touchdown in Malaysia ahead of highly-anticipated concert tonight

KUALA LUMPUR: Fans or Blinks of international K-Pop group BlackPink waited to catch a glimpse of the stunning quartet's arrival at the airport yesterday night.

Jennie and Lisa arrived at the Subang International Airport in Selangor, while Jisoo and Rosé touched down at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport in Sepang, here.

Video clips on BlackPink's Malaysian fan clubs on social media sites featured fans getting excited at seeing their idols arrive and being ushered away under heavy security as they arrived.

Meanwhile, many fans had also braved the rain and queued diligently at the Bukit Jalil National Stadium yesterday afternoon to purchase pre-sale official BlackPink merchandise.

The red-hot K-Pop outfit will be performing at the same venue at 8 pm tonight as part of its Born Pink world tour.

This is BlackPink's second global tour following its highly successful BlackPink World Tour (In Your Area) which took place from 2018 to 2020.

The current tour is in support of the group's second full studio album, Born Pink, which was released on Sept 16, 2022 and debuted at No.1 on the Billboard Top 200 Album chart.

The album made BlackPink the very first K-Pop female group in history to make a double million seller.

BlackPink kicked off the Asian leg of its tour in January with shows in Bangkok, Hong Kong, Riyadh and Abu Dhabi before taking a break in February.

After tonight's concert, the girls will be heading off to Indonesia, Taiwan, the Philippines, Japan, Mexico, Singapore, China and Thailand for more shows.

The Born Pink tour will wrap up in June 17, after concerts in Melbourne and Sydney in Australia.

BlackPink was last in Malaysia in 2019, where the group performed for two nights at the Malawati Indoor Stadium in Shah Alam, Selangor.
