#Showbiz: With 8.8 billion streams, BlackPink is most popular female group on Spotify

KUALA LUMPUR: K-Pop queens BlackPink have become the most streamed female group on Spotify.

Soompi reported yesterday that Guinness World Records noted that Jisoo, Jennie, Rose and Lisa accumulated 8,880,030,049 individual streams on their songs with 20,366,768 monthly listeners.

The quartet dethroned British pop group Little Mix by over 400 million streams.

Their highest-streamed songs on Spotify include How You Like That (746,198,263 streams), Kill This Love (672,084,360), and Ddu-Du Ddu-Du (574,613,362).

The group is also the most subscribed band on YouTube and the first K-Pop band to reach No.1 on the UK and the US Album Charts.

Jennie's hit single Solo became the first song by a Korean solo artiste to garner over 400 million streams on Spotify.

Rose's On The Ground became the first song by a Korean solo artiste to reach No.1 on the Billboard Global chart.

Lisa recently achieved three Guinness World Records for being the first K-Pop solo winner at the MTV Music Video Awards and European Music Awards, and the K-Pop artiste with the most Instagram followers.
