KUALA LUMPUR: Popular actress Datin Anne Ngasri, 38, is now an exco member of Wanita Umno.
Anne or Naszriah Ngasri thanked Umno's women's wing for appointing her and vowed to do her best for the party.
"Thank you Wanita Umno. It is a great honour and responsibility for me to be part of your Exco for a three-year term.
"I pledge to work hard to strengthen Wanita Umno and help make all of its programmes to empower women a success," said Anne in an Instagram post yesterday.
Anne was formerly an exco member of Puteri Umno and actively campaigned for her party in the 15th general election last year.
Anne, who began her acting career by starring in television advertisements at the age of three is best known for television series as Cili Padi, telemovies as Anak Angkat and drama series as Dunia Baru.
Married to Datuk Mohd Sumali Reduan since 2012, they have five children aged between four and 16.
