KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has described Tan Sri Michelle Yeoh's Best Actress win at the 95th Annual Academy Awards today as an inspiration to all those in the film industry.
In his congratulatory message to Yeoh on Facebook, Anwar said that the Ipoh-born superstar who won for the science-fiction adventure Everything Everywhere All At Once had done the nation proud on the international stage, being the first Malaysian and Southeast Asian to win Best Actress at the Oscars.
"Tan Sri Michelle Yeoh carries the hopes of Malaysians. May her stellar achievement inspire everyone in the creative industry to aim high and do the nation proud," said Anwar.
