KUALA LUMPUR: Popular drama director Shahrulezad Mohameddin has praised singer and entrepreneur Mizz Nina for "not washing dirty linen in public".
He gives her the thumbs up for not sharing her personal issues, especially those concerning the end of her marriage to rock singer Noh Salleh of Hujan on social media.
"This is the way it should be. I salute Mizz Nina for showing all celebrities the way forward. Whenever a celebrity faces life's issues such as divorce or break-ups, it is best to keep things under wraps," he said in a recent Facebook post.
"By doing so, nobody gets hurt or humiliated, and the celebrity gains respect from his or her fans. His or her reputation will stay intact, or even grow."
Shahrulezad described Mizz Nina as a "beauty with brains and class".
"She knows what she wants, conducts herself like a true professional and moves on after a crisis."
Netizens fully agreed with Shahrulezad, and told him that Mizz Nina was a great role model for all artistes.
"She's the best of the best. Beautiful, talented, professional, compassionate and forgiving. I love her!" said Aisyah.
"This is what a true artiste should be. I want to tell all new artistes out there to emulate Mizz Nina. She's a beauty in and out," said Rahman.
Mizz Nina, 42, and Noh, 38, ended their 11-year marriage on Aug 4 last year.
The couple filed for divorce at the Gombak Timur Syariah Lower Court on June 14 last year.
