IN conjunction with World Disability Month which fell on Dec 3, IOI Cluster of Hotels came together for the first time to carry out a charity fund dedicated to children with disabilities, focusing on those diagnosed with cerebral palsy.
This year, by working together with local NGO, Gabungan Anak – Anak Palsi Serebrum (GAPS), and Daehan Rehabilitation Hospital Putrajaya, the "Together We Cheer" event was organised on Dec 18 to create awareness and raise funds for the Cerebral Palsy Centre located in Cyberjaya.
As part of the fundraising efforts, t-shirts for the "Together We Cheer" activities will be sold until Dec 31. These t-shirts will be available for adults and children and can be purchased at all IOI Cluster Hotels.
Donation boxes will also be placed at the reception area of all IOI Cluster Hotels in support of Gabungan Anak – Anak Palsi Serebrum. Children at this therapy centre are unable to go school due to their condition and require round-the-clock care, a situation made more challenging by the fact that many come from single income families.
Together We Cheer also aims to create awareness on cerebral palsy and its challenges.
