#JOM! GO: Kawaii experience in Tokyo Street

PAVILION Kuala Lumpur recently celebrated the 11th anniversary of its funky and vibrant Tokyo Street which is located on the sixth floor of the award-winning mall.

In its mood of celebration, Tokyo Street spots stunning "very-Japanese" decorations, while holding a number of displays and exhibitions.

One that is not-to-be-missed is the inaugural 'Art of Kimono' which features more than 100 stunning pieces of Japanese kimonos, yukatas and fusion Japanese dresses that blend pop culture and Malaysian batik elements.

There's also Harajuku Street with pop-ups selling sushi bentos, Yatai Ramen, green tea, and cotton candy as well as fun arcade games to play - all these are now available until Aug 26.

From its kawaii fashion stores to mouthwatering authentic cuisine, there's plenty of all-things-Japanese in Tokyo Street.  Here are five of our favourites!

GET YOUR OWN KIMONO

Head to Kuma Yukata, a cool kawaii store offering a fantastic variety of authentic Japanese kimonos (or yukatas for a less formal look) to bestow longevity and good fortune upon the wearer!

The shop has options of either vintage, or new locally-made kimono that suits your budget. There's also accessories such as Geta (the traditional Japanese footwear made of flat wood and fabric thong), hair pins and even cute colourful Japanese Tabi socks.

A TREAT FOR THE GREEN THUMBS

Zen Bonsai is a little wonderland of bonsai.

It offers a starter kit for beginners and consultation to ensure your green-zen journey is easy and stress-free.

The shop has thousands of bonsai collections from all species if you want to try a hand at the ancient art of bonsai.

Besides bonsai, it also sells everlasting flowers perfect for your little garden. It is 100% real flowers that can live for more than 10 years that symbolises eternal love and happiness.

It is zero maintenance as watering and sunlight is not required because the flower can survive by absorbing water vapor in air.

GET ANYTHING, OR EVERYTHING

Daiso, a shop where you can go gaga as everything only costs RM5.90!

This famous retail chain sells almost everything and everything that you might need and want in your households.

There's cutleries, plates and bowls, office supplies, party items, toys, travel stuff, oh they have everything!

EAT ALL YOU CAN

There's few eateries available at Tokyo Street but hungry diners should definitely check out Sukiya.

Serving in hot-pot style dishes, this buffet style restaurant serves shabu shabu or sukiyaki as well as miso or kimuchi soup.

At the healthy bar, there's a wide variety of fresh vegetables for your pickings.

You can also order unlimited servings of delicious paper thin sliced beef, lamb and chicken.

A LITTLE SWEET TREAT

To satisfy your sweet tooth, check out Matcha Hero Kyoto.

This little matcha-heaven is a place where you can cool down with a scoop of creamy matcha ice cream or go traditional with their Organic Cultivated Matcha.

Oh, you can't go wrong with Matcha Kyoto's authentic selection of beverages and ice creams!
