HONESTLY, I have some reservations about staying in a hotel that shares the same building with a mall.
While it offers conveniences to scale every floor of the mall for good bargains and good food, I am a bit concerned about parking and privacy but most of the time, I'd find my concerns were baseless.
Like other hotel-in-a-mall outfits, Citadines D'Pulze Cyberjaya proves me wrong, at first encounter!
Yes, it shares the same parking floors with D'Pulze Cyberjaya Shopping Centre but the moment my car reaches 1F floor, I could see designated parking bays for guests that are located right outside the hotel's lift lobby.
"Don't worry. The parking floors are under the mall's security," explains a staff member at the reception.
"And, only those with access cards can enter the hotel lobby and use the elevators to the room floors," she adds.
The small but cosy lobby has two doors - the main entrance from the driveway and the access door to the mall.
Like most typical aparthotels, Citadines' lobby is simple but yet still elegant and cosy.
Besides the standard lobby fixtures - reception and sofa sets, it also has a Starbucks self-service kiosk.
STAY
The door to my seventh-floor apartment opens to a decent-sized U-shaped kitchen that flows out to a dining area of a small four-seater dining table that has a floor lamp separating it from the living area.
My favourite spot of the floor's layout is the living area. The small tv set aside, the living area that is made of a four-seater sofa set holds an obstructed view of the surroundings. Thanks to the big frame window.
While I can't really name each of the buildings, I can certainly identify the iconic roof of Putrajaya International Convention Centre.
The other half of the floor plan is where the rooms and second bathroom are. The master bedroom has a queen-sized bed, a floor-to-ceiling wardrobe, a dressing table, a sofa, a TV and an attached bathroom. While the other room has two single beds, each flanked by a side table.
Since I'm not really a "bathtub person", the absence of this luxury fixture doesn't disturb me at all. But, I must point out that the ocean-fresh coloured tiles in the showers are my favourite fixture of the bathrooms. The icing on the cake is the wall-mounted eco-friendly bath amenities.
Oh, did I mention that my apartment has a front-loading washing machine? And fret not, if you didn't pack your detergent, as you can get it from the reception.
Citadines D'Pulze Cyberjaya offers three categories of rooms - Studio Executive (26sqm), One-bedroom Executive (45sqm) and Two-bedroom Executive (65sqm).
EAT
The self-serve Starbucks kiosk is the only F&B "outlet" available within the hotel's premises. But, thankfully the adjoining D'Pulze Cyberjaya Shopping Centre houses quite a number of F&B outlets. In fact, the hotel access door opens up the mall's Food & Beverage floor. Since it has no F&B outlets, breakfast for guests comes in nicely packed brekki goodness. I have the privilege to taste its breakfast menus for two days. For Sunday, we have a choice of nasi lemak and fried kway teow while the following day we have fried rice and a selection of pastries. I must say that I'm quite impressed by the selections, their taste and portions.
DO
Shopping of course! When you have the biggest mall in Cyberjaya right at your doorstep, shopping - or window shopping - is inevitable. There's even a cinema!

Putrajaya is only 20 minutes drive away from Citadines D'Pulze Cyberjaya.

LOWS The not-so-new outlook. It's high time for Citadines D'Pulze Cyberjaya to have a facelift.

THE LITTLE SISTER
AT the other side of the D'Pulze Cyberjaya Shopping Centre, on the road-level floor, is the entrance to Citadines' little sister, Fox Lite Hotel D'Pulze - Cyberjaya by Ascott.
The chic hotel takes on a more vibrant and youthful outlook with bright colours and modern arts. Unlike its big sister, Fox Lite offers typical hotel rooms with either a queen-sized bed or twin beds. Though simple and no-frills, the rooms do not lack character and personality. They are adorned with bright colours and vibrant mural art designed by local designers.
