2022 Honda HR-V set to launch Q3, available in RS variant

KUALA LUMPUR: Honda Malaysia's all-new HR-V is now open for bookings at all its dealerships locally.

Set to be launched in Q3 2022 the new compact sports utility vehicle (SUV) will be available in hybrid and petrol variants. The former being the ever-popular RS variant.

"The HR-V was first introduced to the Malaysian market in 2015, and it became a best-selling as well asa sensational model. Its unique, unmatched practicality and advanced features made it a game changer ahead of its competitors.

"It has been the forerunner in the non-national compact SUV segment from 2015 to 2021 having sold more than 111,000 units to date. The facelifted HR-V which was launched in 2019 has sold close to 39,000 units. It is truly the compact SUV that is loved by many Malaysians with its proven track record," said Honda Malaysia managing director and chief executive officer Hironobu Yoshimura.

The new 2022 HR-V now exudes a bolder presence most notably with its new dominant, digital front grille design and front LED sequential turn signals.

The rear showcases a fastback styling with a sleek aerodynamic design and performance, and LED tail light strip.

Other key stylish exterior features include the new LED headlights with Daytime Running Lights (DRL), front LED fog lights, and the 18-inch alloy wheels.

As with other Honda models, the RS variant will have the combined benefit of petrol engine and electric motors as it is equipped with e:HEV technology thats powered by the intelligent Multi-Mode Drive (i-MMD) system.

Its advanced powertrain delivers 131PS and 253Nm of torque while offering three drive modes - ECON, Normal and Sport.

Measuring 4,385mm in length, 1,790mm in width and 1,590mm in height, it is 39mm longer and 15mm shorter compared to its predecessor.

The HR-V RS also comes with advanced features such as Honda LaneWatch, hands-free power tailgate with walk away close function, remote engine start, and walk away auto lock functions.

Lastly, the RS variant comes with Honda Sensing and its suite of advanced driver assistance safety systems which includes: Lead Car Departure Notification (LCDN), Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), LowSpeed Follow (LSF), Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS), Forward Collision Warning (FCW), Lane Keep Assist System (LKAS), Road Departure Mitigation (RDM), Lane Departure Warning (LDW), and Auto High Beam (AHB).

Prices and variant breakdown will be announced at a later date.
