Stay united to strengthen MIC, Subra tells party members

SERDANG: MIC president Datuk Seri Dr S. Subramaniam has vowed to help the party bounce back following its internal party crisis.

Speaking to reporters shortly before voting for MIC's reelection closed at 11am, Dr Subramaniam said the party should strengthen itself by staying united.

"We have recovered from the crisis and we will now begin to strengthen the party.

"We want to build better ties in the party," he said.

Dr Subramaniam, who is also the election committee chairman, said 90 per cent of some 1,400 delegates had voted since 9am.

The vote-counting process is underway and is expected to finish in two hours.
