Bentong cops seek Facebook user who claimed police amended travel permit approval

BENTONG: Police are seeking the assistance of a Facebook user under the profile name "DuaEmpat LapanSatu" to come forward to assist investigations related to an interstate travel approval.

District police chief Superintendent Zaiham Mohd Kahar said the Facebook user had alleged that policemen amended his interstate travel document when he stopped for inspection at the Bentong toll plaza.

"The individual claimed that a police station in Sepang, Selangor had approved his interstate travel permit from May 11 till 17 but policemen at the Bentong roadblock had amended the permit and reduced it to only a day.

"We urge the Facebook account owner to contact the district police station at 09-2222222 or contact me directly to provide assistance on the alleged claim," he said in a statement today.

The Facebook user wrote: "Balai Bandar Baru Salak Tinggi approved my interstate travel permit from May 11 till 17 but when at the Bentong roadblock, it was modified and I was only allowed one day leave."

The posting in the comments section included "not sure of the government's standard operating procedures as they had mentioned long distance couples can apply for inter-state travel".
