KUALA LUMPUR: Police arrested 35 people for their involvement in a "wild party" to celebrate the birthday of a private doctor at a luxury residence in Jalan Conlay, here, last night.

The party that also involved drugs and sexual activities was busted when a City police Criminal Investigations Department (CID) team raided four units at the 12th and 14th floors of the building.

City police CID deputy chief, Assistant Commissioner Nasri Mansor, said the raid was conducted at 11pm after receiving tip-offs on the wild party.

"During the raid simultaneously carried out at four rooms, all suspects comprising 27 Malaysians (19 men and eight women), five Vietnamese women, one Thai woman and two Chinese men, were enjoying loud music.

"They were high on drugs, believed to have consumed drinks mixed with drugs, besides gambling and engaging in sexual activities," he told Berita Harian after the raid.

He said police also seized 20 bottles of juices believed to be mixed with drugs, condoms, poker cards, dices and a bowl as well as an audio system.

"Initial investigations found that they rented the rooms for two nights, starting Friday afternoon till Sunday for the party.

"The suspects, aged between 21 and 35, were all detained for further investigations," he said.

Nasri said the arrests were made under 372B of the Penal Code for soliciting for the purpose of prostitution, Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 for drug trafficking, Section 4(1) of the Entertainment Act and the Immigration Act.

He said, in addition, those involved were also compounded under Regulation 17 (1) of the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Regulations 2021 for violating the Movement Control Order.

He added that police will continue to detect such activities and welcomed the public to channel information to them.
