Man surrenders over stabbing incident at Tanjung Piandang workshop

PARIT BUNTAR: A man surrendered himself to police after admitting he stabbed a workshop owner in Titi Serong, Tanjung Piandang here yesterday.

Perak Criminal Investigations Department chief Datuk Anuar Othman said the 52-year-old man surrendered at the Simpang Lima Police Station at 2.45pm yesterday.

He said that the man had told the police officer on duty that he had stabbed a man with a knife at the owner's workshop.

"We considered it as initial information and arrested the man for further investigations.

"The 43-year-old victim was pronounced dead upon arrival at Parit Buntar Hospital here due to severe injuries," he said.

Anuar added that initial investigations showed that the attack on the victim allegedly stemmed from dissatisfaction.

"The suspect accused the victim of changing some components of his motorcycle when he sent it to the workshop three weeks ago," he said.

The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.

The incident had since gone viral on social media after two video clips showing the location of the incident and traces of blood believed to be from the victim, went viral.
