Police nab man for stabbing wife and mother-in-law

TUMPAT: Police have arrested a 27-year-old man suspected of stabbing his wife and mother-in-law yesterday.

District police chief Assistant Commissioner Amran Dollah said the man was detained at 10.15am today.

"Police nabbed the suspect when he failed to kill himself by jumping off a high building at a new housing project in Kampung Sireh near Kota Baru," he said in a statement.

Amran said the suspect was being held for further investigation, adding that the two victims were aged 20 and 60.

"We suspect the man had stabbed the two women during an argument at 6.35pm in Chabang Empat here yesterday. The victims were believed to have been stabbed with two knives. They are now warded at Raja Perempuan Zainab II Hospital here," he added.

Police are investigating the case under Section 326 of Penal Code for voluntarily causing grievous hurt with dangerous weapons.
