BACHOK: Police detained three men suspected of having robbed four workers of their hand phones and more than RM5,000 cash yesterday in Kampung Redang here yesterday.
District police chief Superintendent Zaizul Rizal Zakaria said the three, in their 30s, were arrested about 8.30pm last night.
He said police mounted Ops Samun to hunt for the trio soon after receiving a report on the incident.
"The report was lodged by the victim's employer about 3.40pm.
"In the report, the employer said he was informed by his four workers that they were robbed by five masked men who went to their home in the morning.
"The robbers who arrived in a Perodua Myvi, also attacked the four men with an iron rod, a piece of wood and a knife before escaping with the victim's hand phones and the cash," he said in a statement.
He said the four victims suffered injuries and bruises all over their face and body in the robbery.
"The suspects were nabbed in front of a shop in Jalan Jelawat- Tangok last night. Police also seized a hand phone, some pills and a car from the suspects," he added.
He added the three had been remanded for seven days to assist police investigation into the case.
