Two security guards charged with murdering businessman [NSTTV]

KUALA LUMPUR: Two security guards were charged at the magistrate's court here today with murdering a businessman near Mont Kiara recently.

Both the accused, Hariadasan S. Murugam, 28, and Sathorohgunosing Gondarppo, 32, only nodded when the charge was read to them before Magistrate Wong Chai Sia.

They were charged with murdering Goh Chok Chuan, 63, at the Amarin Kiara parking lot, on July 11, under Section 302 of the Penal Code which provides for the mandatory death sentence upon conviction.

No plea were recorded from the accused. The court fixed Sept 29 for re-mention..

It was reported on July 11 that a businessman was shot dead while walking back to his vehicle parked outside the guarded residential area, after playing mahjong at his friend's place.

The police were reported to have detained seven suspects in relation to the case, on July 14 and 15 - four in Johor Baru and three in Ipoh.

Kuala Lumpur police chief Datuk Azmi Abu Kassim was reported to have said all the suspects had previous record for criminal and drug-related cases.
