IPOH: Police made several arrests and seized drugs worth RM6.6 million during a raid at a hut in a jungle in Chenderiang, Tapah on Friday.

Perak police chief Datuk Mohd Yusri Hassan Basri said the 9.45am raid saw the arrest of five including two siblings aged between 29 and 33.

They were believed to have been involved in the processing and distribution of methamphetamine.

"Police seized methamphetamine weighing 110.5kg worth RM6,627,180.00.

"Also seized were a Honda City, a Mitsubishi Triton, jewellery and a range of drug processing apparatus worth RM161,375," he told a press conference today.

Mohd Yusri said the syndicate was believed to have been active since June this year and the drugs were meant for sale outside the state.

"Three of them tested positive for methamphetamine and four had several criminal cases including burglary.

"The amount of confiscated drugs can be used by up to a million addicts," he said.

Mohd Yusri said the suspects had been remanded until Sept 2 for further investigation under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 for trafficking dangerous drugs
