IPOH: Police are looking for two suspects linked to the firing of a shot at a house in Sitiawan yesterday.

Perak police chief Datuk Mohd Yusri Hassan Basri said the Manjung district police headquarters received a report from a man saying that two unknown men riding a motorcycle fired a shot at his home at 1.07pm.

"Police rushed to the scene to investigate the matter. The man lives with his wife and two children.

"The man's wife told him that she heard a loud bang outside their house that morning, but ignored the matter.

"About 12.45pm, when the man left his house to get something, he noticed the damage to the rear mirror of his car. He then found a bullet shell under his car," he said today.

Yusri said following an investigation at the scene, police found a hole in the rear mirror of the car and a bullet shell.

"Police checked CCTV recordings near the scene. Two unknown men were riding a Yamaha Y15 motorcycle without a registration number. One of them fired a shot.

"One suspect tried to fire another shot in front of the home, but failed when the pistol did not work. Then they fled the scene."

He said police were investigating the motive and the case is being probed under Section 8 of the Firearms (Increased Penalties) Act 1971.
