Najib 1MDB trial: Former Ambank MD takes the stand [NSTTV]

KUALA LUMPUR: Datuk Seri Najib Razak's corruption trial for misappropriating 1 Malaysia Development Funds (1MDB) continues with several witnesses expected to testify today.

The trial which started about 10.35am continues with Najib's lead counsel Tan Sri Muhammad Shafee Abdullah's cross-examination by questioning former Ambank Bhd managing director Cheah Tek Kuang.

Shafee started the proceedings by touching on the millions of ringgit that his client received from the Saudi monarch.

The 75-year-old witness confirmed that there were no red flags raised by Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) over the transactions.

A new witness is expected to testify after a short break.

Earlier, Najib's wife Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor was seen entering the court building to attend the proceedings.

The hearing before Judge Datuk Collin Lawrence Sequerah continues.
