PETALING JAYA: A 19-year-old punched, kicked and stomped on his mother at their home in Kampung Lindungan, here, because he was angry that the place was untidy.
The incident happened about 6pm on Friday.
The 44-year-old woman lodged a report only on Monday.
District police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohamad Fakhrudin Abdul Hamid said police arrested the suspect the next day.
He said the teenager was angry because he found the house untidy.
"He flew into a rage and locked his mother in and assaulted her. He allegedly threw things at her before punching her in the face.
"When she fell, he continued to kick and stomp on her chest," he said in a statement today.
Fakhrudin said the case was being investigated under Section 324 of the Penal Code for assault.
"The suspect, who has a criminal record, has been remanded for four days until Nov 5."
