KOTA KINABALU: Police are investigating a video of a man showing handcuffs to children at a traffic light intersection on Jalan Coastal, here.
The 24-second video posted on TikTok went viral yesterday.
District police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Zaidi Abdullah said the video was uploaded on a TikTok account under the handle @Penjahat96 but the purpose could not be ascertained.
However, he said, the action could annoy and agitate the public.
"The investigation will identify the suspect who had the handcuffs and the owner of the TikTok account.
"Police would like to remind the public that it is an offence to misuse police equipment, such as handcuffs," he said in a statement today.
