Mother left shocked as 14-year-old daughter gives birth

KUALA LUMPUR: A woman in her 40s had the shock of her life when she took her 14-year-old daughter to hospital after the teen complained of having difficulties in relieving herself yesterday.

Doctors at Baling Hospital who examined the girl about 4.30pm told the mother that the girl's problems were due to the fact that she was pregnant and had gone into labour.

Two hours later, the teen delivered a healthy baby girl.

According to a source, the mother of the pregnant teen, who was still somewhat in shock at what had happened, then lodged a police report because she suspected that her daughter might have been raped.

"From the statement taken, the woman said that initially her daughter had complained of having problems passing motion before she noticed blood dripping down the teenager's leg at home.

"The woman also claimed that she noticed that her daughter's physical shape and appearance had changed over the past three months, but the teenager denied that she was pregnant and insisted that she had put on weight instead," the source disclosed.

The source added that the woman claimed that she had noticed some form of clear liquid marks on the bed where her daughter slept but the teenager said that it was because she had urinated.

"However, the woman became very worried and concerned after seeing blood running down her daughter's leg and she proceeded to immediately take her daughter to the hospital.

"Upon arriving at the hospital, only then did the woman learn of the truth that her teenage daughter was actually heavily pregnant and she ended up giving birth to a baby girl," said the source.

Police recorded statements from the teenager and she claimed to have had sexual intercourse with two men in their 20s who live in the same village as her.

"The teenage victim claimed that she willingly had sexual intercourse thrice with the two men since February after getting to know them from another female friend from school," said the source.

When contacted, Baling police chief Superintendent Shamsudin Mamat confirmed receiving the report on the incident, but declined to comment further, only saying that investigations were ongoing.

"For now, we are trying to track down the suspects to assist in the investigations concerning the case," he said.
