Klang man survives being shot in arm, neck [NSTTV]

KUALA LUMPUR: A 46-year-old man was shot in his right arm and neck in front of his house in Taman Wangi, Klang, yesterday.

Klang Selatan police chief Assistant Commissioner Cha Hoong Fong said the incident was believed to have been committed by a man who had allegedly been cheated by the victim's wife.

He said the Klang Selatan police headquarters were alerted to the 7.10am incident by the man's wife.

She told them the assailant was believed to be a Malaysian.

Cha said a Criminal Investigation Department team was deployed to the house where they found the victim shot in his arm and neck.

The victim was said to have been about to leave for work at a factory in Petaling Jaya when he was shot.

"The victim was taken to Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital for further treatment. X-rays showed an object suspected to be a bullet lodged in the victim's right arm," Cha said in a statement yesterday.

He said further investigation found that the gunman had been riding a black motorcycle and wearing a dark-coloured helmet during the incident.

"The suspect fired three shots towards the victim using two pistols. The CID forensics team from the Selangor police headquarters discovered two metal objects, believed to be bullet casings, at the scene.

"The case was believed to have been committed by an individual who held a grudge against the victim's wife who had allegedly cheated him of his investments."

Cha said police had initiated investigations under Section 307 of the Penal Code for attempted murder.

Anyone with information on the case should contact the investigating officer, Inspector Hazri Raziff, at 018-3204914, or the Klang Selatan police headquarters at 03-33762222.
