Body of man with limbs tied found by roadside

KUALA LUMPUR: The body of a man with his limbs bound, clad in a shorts and T-shirt, was found dumped by the roadside in Taman Bestari Jaya here this morning.

Gombak police chief Assistant Commissioner Zainal Mohamed said police were alerted by passers-by at 11.40am and deployed a team to the scene.

"The victim had his hands and legs tied. No personal identification documents were found on the body," he said in a statement.

Zainal said the unidentified man in his 40s also had visible injuries to his head, face and body.

"The victim was clad in a black shorts and a maroon T-shirt. Anyone with missing family members or friends should contact the Gombak police headquarters," he said.

Zainal also urged those with information on the case to contact the district police headquarters or investigating officer Assistant Superintendent Kolanthaivelu Raman at 03-61262222/019-2579232.

He said the man's body was sent to Kuala Lumpur Hospital for post-mortem examination, adding that the case has been classified as murder.
