Suspect in Taman Klebang Putra murder arrested by police

IPOH: The police today arrested the suspect of a murdered man found dead in front of his house in Taman Klebang Putra, Chemor yesterday.

Perak police chief Datuk Seri Mohd Yusri Hassan Basri said the suspect, a local man, 27, was arrested in Chemor and that investigation papers have been opened under Section 302 of the Penal Code.

"The police have apprehended the suspect believed to be involved in the murder of a 37-year-old man and are tracking his other accomplices.

"The suspect will be taken to the Ipoh Magistrate's Court tomorrow for remand application," he said in a statement today.

The murder victim died at the scene of the crime at 11.28 pm yesterday and preliminary checks revealed there were injuries to his body, and the police did not deny the possibility that he was a victim of an accident.

But an autopsy by the Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital forensics department confirmed the cause of death to be due to multiple blunt force trauma and the case was classified as murder.

Mohd Yusri said with the suspect's arrest, the police believe that they have solved the murder in Taman Klebang Putra. -- BERNAMA
