Sibu cops nab local man for suspected drug trafficking

SIBU: Police have arrested a 26-year-old local man for suspected involvement in drug trafficking at his house in Lorong Permai Jaya 1B1, Taman Permai at 11.30am yesterday.

District police chief Assistant Commissioner Zulkipli Suhaili said a Narcotics Criminal Investigation Department team seized two gold-coloured tin foil wrappings with compressed pieces of dried leaves and 11 small clear plastic bags, believed to be cannabis, weighing 2.343kg and worth RM6,759.

"Police also confiscated nine small vials of 10ml vape liquid, believed to be infused with cannabis with an estimated weight of 173.7g worth RM900," he said in a statement.

Zulkipli said a urine test conducted on the suspect turned out negative but checks found that he had a record related to drugs.
