An illicit relationship ends up being a costly affair

JEMPOL: A man sustained injuries after a woman's enraged husband found out about their affair recently.

In the last Monday incident at a Felda settlement here the man, who works as a trader was beaten up with a broom, a hoe stick and a rubber pipe.

The affair also proved costly when the woman's husband took RM15,000 belonging to the trader.

A source revealed that the trader who is in his 20s met the woman through the WhatsApp application two months ago.

After the woman's husband found out about the affair, the trader was then told to come to the assailant's house.

The source said as soon as the trader arrived at the house at about 1am, the woman's husband and five of his family members beat up the victim.

He is believed to have been beaten with a broom, hoe stick and rubber pipe throughout his body and head, in addition to being punched in the eye.

The woman's husband is then believed to have demanded the trader's bank card and PIN before withdrawing RM15,000.

Sources said following the incident, six suspects aged 17 to 28 years were arrested by the police and remanded since Jan 24 to assist in the case's investigation.

Jempol District Police Chief Superintendent Hoo Chang Hook confirmed the incident and that the case is being investigated according to Section 326 for voluntarily causing grievous hurt by dangerous weapons and Section 384 of the Penal Code for extortion.
