MACC nabs part time driving instructor for accepting bribe

KUALA LUMPUR: A part time driving instructor was arrested by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) for soliciting and accepting bribe amounting to RM650 from a driving test candidate, today.

The woman had taken the money in return for a guaranteed pass for a driving licence.

A source said the woman in her 40s was arrested at about 4.30pm at the Selangor MACC Office when she came to give her statement.

He said the suspect, who is also a senior administrative assistant at a local authority council (PBT) had asked for the money as an incentive to obtain the guarantee pass driving licence at a driving school in Petaling Jaya owned by his father-in-law.

Meanwhile, Selangor MACC Director, Datuk Alias ​​Salim when contacted confirmed the matter.

He said the case is being investigated under Section 16 (a) (A) of the MACC Act 2009.

The source said the woman is expected to be remanded at the Shah Alam Sessions Court tomorrow.
