KUALA LUMPUR: Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia information chief Datuk Wan Saiful Wan Jan has arrived at Jalan Duta courthouse, here, where he is expected to face charges of abusing the Jana Wibawa programme funds.

He was seen walking in to the courthouse, towards Sessions Court located at second floor, accompanied by several Bersatu supporters about 8.45am.

Also seen arriving at the courthouse in support of Wan Saiful was Bersatu's president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin and the party's secretary-general Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainuddin.

Wan Saiful is one of two people who will be charged in connection with the Jana Wibawa programme at Sessions Court today.

He was arrested by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) last night after giving his statement to the graft busters on the Jana Wibawa scheme.

The other individual who will be charged at Sessions Court today is Segambut Bersatu division deputy chief Adam Radlan Adam Muhammad, who is also a chief executive officer of a company.

Adam Radlan was remanded in January to help in the probe involving the scheme.

They are scheduled to be charged at separate Sessions Courts at 9am.

The Jana Wibawa or 'Program Jana Ekonomi Pemerkasaan Kontraktor Bumiputera Berwibawa' was introduced to expedite project execution to spur the nation's economic recovery post Covid-19 pandemic.

It was also aimed at improving the capacity of Bumiputera contractors in the construction sector to be more resilient and competitive.
