ALOR STAR: The Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry seized 5,620 litres of diesel during a raid on an illegal storage area in Changlun near here yesterday.
The ministry's state office director, Affendi Rajini Kanth, said the 5.30pm Op Tiris raid in Lorong Palas, Sungai Laka subdistrict was carried out based on intelligence by the ministry.
"The raiding team seized 5,620 litres of diesel worth about RM11,802 at the site.
"The diesel were stored in drums and containers. We have also seized an assortment of equipment believed to be used for swindling," he said in a statement today.
Affendi added the total value of the seizure was estimated at RM 17,756.
He said the case was being investigated under Section 21 of the Supply Control Act 1961 for storing diesel at an unlicensed site.
