Myvi queue jumper in viral video has statement recorded by police

AMPANG JAYA: A man, whose queue-jumping act along the Middle Ring Road gained online notoriety, has presented himself to the police to have his statement recorded.

Ampang Jaya district police chief, Assistant Commissioner Mohd Farouk Eshak, said police were alerted to the 14-second viral video of the incident yesterday.

"The 39-year-old driver of the Perodua Myvi in the incident presented himself to the Ampang Jaya traffic police headquarters last night to give his statement.

"The case is being investigated under Rule 6(1) of the Road Traffic Rules 1959 for queue-jumping," he said in a statement.

In the video, the driver of the black Myvi was seen entering the left lane from the right. However, the car immediately swerved back into the right lane, which prompted the car behind to sound its horn.

The driver of the Myvi, apparently irked at being told off, swung him arm outside the window several times in a threatening gesture.

The incident is believed to have taken place along the MRR2 in Pandan Indah.

The incident took place on Thursday at 5.47pm during rush hour.
