Customer allegedly stabs workshop owner over repair dispute

SUBANG JAYA: A customer allegedly stabbed the owner of an automotive repair shop, injuring him in the neck and chest following a dispute, police said.

The incident occurred on Dec 9, 2024, at around 5.20pm, after a 40-year-old man, who had earlier dropped off his vehicle for brake system repairs, returned to the workshop two hours after his initial visit.

Police claimed that the verbal confrontation between the customer and the workshop owner quickly escalated, leading to the stabbing.

Subang Jaya district police chief Assistant Commissioner Wan Azlan Wan Mamat said following the argument, the suspect attacked the 54-year-old workshop owner with a sharp weapon, causing severe neck and chest injuries.

While the exact cause of the dispute is still unclear, the suspect fled the scene following the attack.

Police are investigating the incident.

Police said the victim was in stable condition.

The suspect fled the scene in a Perodua Alza, leaving the victim critically wounded.

Police said they are hunting the suspect and if he is caught and found guilty, he could face a jail term up to 20 years in jail.
