Police find gun in car of 19-year-old who fell from Kajang building

KUALA LUMPUR:  Police have confirmed that a 19-year-old man, who fell from the 12th floor of a building in Kajang yesterday, had a firearm in his car.

Kajang Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Naazron Abdul Yusof said the victim succumbed to severe injuries at the scene.

He said checks on the victim's car led to the discovery of a gun and bullets.

"During the investigation, police discovered a semi-automatic pistol along with ammunition in a suitcase inside the victim's vehicle.

"This discovery has led police to conduct further inquiries, particularly regarding the firearm's presence.

"Based on the findings, investigations will be carried out under Section 8 of the Firearms (Increased Penalties) Act 1971. For now, his death has been classified as a sudden death," he said.

He added that a post-mortem examination will be conducted to determine the cause of death.

"We are urging anyone with information about the case to come forward," he said.
