Legal battle escalates as High Court bans security guards from PJ condo [WATCH]

SHAH ALAM: The Shah Alam High Court has issued an interim injunction against a security company barring its guards from entering the Armanee Terrace Condominium in Petaling Jaya following the termination of its company contract.

FMT reported that the ex-parte order issued by judicial commissioner Elaine Yap said the guards from Ramli Security Sdn Bhd, owned by former commercial crime investigation department director Datuk Seri Ramli Yusuff, must vacate the condominium in Damansara Perdana immediately upon receiving the order.

Yap also barred the company's representatives from entering the condominium until the disposal of the joint management committee's (JMC) originating summons.

The JMC's lawyer, N.G Vinod confirmed the issuance of the order, which will be served on Ramli Security today.

The dispute between JMC and Ramli Security arose following the termination of the company's contract on Dec 24 last year.

Despite a new company taking over the security duties, Ramli Security continued to station its guards at the premises, arguing that it was waiting for payment from the JMC, which said it would pay, but had not received invoices since November.

The JMC and condominium unit owners made reports at the Damansara police station against the company for trespassing.

The company, two weeks ago, sent invoices dated November and has not responded to the JMC's request that it be reissued to the current dates.

Petaling Jaya police chief Assistant Commissioner Shahrulnizam Jaafar said the investigation paper into the alleged trespassing has been submitted to the Attorney-General's Chambers and they were waiting for instructions.

The condominium's Joint Management Body (JMB) chairman Parveen Sidhu had said the company's contract was terminated due to unsatisfactory service. But its security guards were still performing duties such as patrolling the units, manning the security post, and managing visitor registrations, posing challenges to the new company.

Ramli said the JMB's action in terminating the contract with only 24 hours' notice was unlawful, according to the signed agreement.
