PM opens national-level 2017 Felda Settlers' Day in Putrajaya

PUTRAJAYA: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak arrived at Dataran Putrajaya here at 10.15am to open the national-level 2017 Felda Settlers’ Day.

He was greeted on arrival by Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Razali Razali and Felda chairman Tan Sri Shahrir Abdul Samad.

Najib is expected to present several awards at the event, including the coveted “Anugerah Keceriaan Kampung Felda”, which comes with a cash prize of a whopping RM1 million.

Other awards scheduled to be presented by the Prime Minister are the “Anugerah Khidmat Bakti” to 10 former settlers for their excellent services, the "Anugerah Masjid Terbaik" and "Anugerah Tokoh Imam".

Up to 50,000 Felda settlers from across Malaysia are expected to attend the grand celebration.

The three-day 2017 Felda Settlers’ Day event, which began on Friday, has highlighted the successes and achievements of the children of Felda settlers.

This year’s celebration is touted to be the biggest so far, with various activities including sales of products, exhibitions and performances by artistes from Felda land schemes adding colour to the festivities.
