Tok Bali drowning: Family of four buried in single grave [NSTTV]

TANAH MERAH: A solemn air enveloped the Kampung Alor Pasir / Padang Kijang Muslim cemetery as a family of four who drowned in Pantai Tok Bali, Pasir Puteh, were laid to rest last night.

The remains of Yazul Bahari Yacob, 46, his daughter Yasmin Nor Aliza, 10; sibling Yusnina, 38; as well as niece Zulaikha Suhaimi, 10, were buried in a single grave at 11.45pm.

Also at the burial was Pertubuhan Pakatan Anak Tanah Merah (PAKAT) patron Datuk Seri Muhammud Supardi Md Nor.

Earlier, the four remains had arrived from the Tengku Anis Pasir Puteh Hospital and brought to the home of Yazul’s father, Yacob Ismail, 68, in the same village. The remains were bathed and the ‘solat jenazah’ was perfomed.

Meanwhile, Yacob, when met, said he accepted the tragedy as fate.

“Allah loves them more,” he said.

The remains of another family member, five-year-old Khaizuran Waliyuddin Suhaimi, was found by fishermen this morning. The remains were sent to the hospital for a post-mortem examination.

The family had gone to Pantai Tok Bali to spend their Chinese New Year vacation. The family were reported to have drowned at 10am yesterday.

A search and rescue mission had recovered the bodies of the four not long after.
