Chow Kon Yeow is officially Penang CM [NSTTV]

GEORGE TOWN: Penang DAP chairman Chow Kon Yeow has been sworn-in as the state's fifth Chief Minister at Seri Mutiara, which is the Yang di-Pertua Negeri's residence here, earlier today.

Chow, 60, took the oath at about 11.10am in front of Penang Yang di-Pertua Negeri Tun Abdul Rahman Abbas.

Also present during the ceremony was Finance Minister-elect Lim Guan Eng.

Lim was also the previous CM, having held the post for the last two terms.

Penang Pakatan Harapan (PH) won big in the recent 14th General Election (GE14) by securing 37 state seats, enabling the pact to form the state government with a simple majority.

Chow’s first press conference is expected to be held in his office at Komtar later today.
