Proposed e-bazaar to be discussed at Cabinet meeting tomorrow

KUALA LUMPUR: The e-bazaar, proposed to replace traditional Ramadan bazaars this year, will be discussed at the Cabinet meeting tomorrow, said Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.

He said among the suggestions for the concept involved alternatives between order-and-deliver and order-and-pick-up.

“The order-and-pick-up would raise concerns due to people thronging the designated places.

“The idea (of MCO) is for the public not being able to give any excuse to go out. If there’s a pick-up service (for the bazaar), the police will face difficulties especially at roadblocks, where everyone will give the same excuse, to pick up their food,” he said in a live telecast today.

Ismail Sabri had yesterday announced that Ramadan bazaars would not be allowed to operate throughout MCO, amid proposals including the implementation of alternative concepts like drive-thru services.
