Malaysia records 82 new Covid-19 cases today [NSTTV]

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia today registered 82 new Covid-19 cases in the past 24 hours, raising the infection tally to 10,358.

According to Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah, 72 of the cases are local transmissions, while 10 are imported.

Sixty of the cases are in Sabah, with 41 linked to the Benteng LD cluster, six to the Pulau cluster and six to the Selamat cluster.

Elsewhere, 10 cases were detected in Kedah, nine in Kuala Lumpur and one in Selangor.

Meanwhile, 168 cases have been declared cured and were discharged from hospitals nationwide.

At a press conference in Putrajaya today, Dr Noor Hisham added that nine cases are in intensive care, with two requiring breathing assistance.

No new fatality was recorded today, and the death toll stands at 130.
