Zuraida observes home quarantine

KUALA LUMPUR: Housing and Local Government Minister Zuraida Kamaruddin is currently under self-quarantine at her residence for 14 days based on the Health Ministry's guidelines.

Berita Harian quoted her political secretary, Nor Hizwan Ahmad, as saying that Zuraida tested negative for Covid-19 in a swab test that she took on Sept 26 at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport 2 (KLIA2) upon returning from state poll campaigns in Sabah.

Hisham said, Zuraida attended a programme in Langkawi the following day (Sept 27) and returned home on the same day.

"In the morning of Sept 28, she attended the Malaysia Urban Forum in Kuala Lumpur and that evening, we were informed that there was a Covid-19 positive case from the programme which she attended in Langkawi.

"So, on Sept 29, Zuraida did another swab test and the results also turned out to be negative," he said in a statement today.

The Sabah election that took place on Sept 26 has led to the emergence of new Covid-19 cases in many states, involving individuals who recently returned from Sabah.
