Labuan CMCO extended till Dec 6 [NSTTV]

KUALA LUMPUR: The Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) will be extended for another 14 days in Labuan following a surge in the number of Covid-19 positive cases.

Senior Minister (Security cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said the current two-week CMCO in Labuan, was supposed to end tomorrow.

Now, the directive will be extended until Dec 6.

This is the third time the CMCO is extended in Labuan. The first time it underwent the CMCO was from Oct 17 -30.

He said Labuan recorded 35 new Covid-19 cases yesterday, bringing the total number to 1,135 active cases in the Federal Territory.

"The decision was made following the risk evaluation and recommendation made by the Health Ministry. It was agreed upon that we would extend the CMCO in Labuan.

"Labuan will be placed under CMCO starting Nov 14 until Dec 6.

"The decision was made to prevent the spread of Covid-19 infection and to allow health personnel to detect active cases in targeted areas identified as high risk," he said.
