Sultan of Johor awards Datukship to 4 individuals

JOHOR BARU: Sultan of Johor Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar today awarded the Darjah Sultan Ibrahim Johor Yang Amat Disanjungi Pangkat Yang Kedua, Dato' Mulia Sultan Ibrahim Johor (DMIJ), which carries the title of Datuk to four individuals.

The award ceremony was held at the Istana Pasir Pelangi in conjunction with the ruler's 62nd birthday today.

In a posting of Sultan Ibrahim's official Facebook page, the DMIJ was awarded to Iskandar Puteri City Council mayor Salehuddin Hassan, state Health Director Dr Aman Rabu, Mejar Cina David Wong Khoong Soon and Yayasan Sultan Ibrahim Johor (YSIJ) board of trustee member Avinderjit Singh.

Present at the ceremony was Tunku Mahkota Johor Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim.

Also present were Menteri Besar Datuk Hasni Mohammad and State Secretary Datuk Azmi Rohani.

Wong, who is a descendent of Wong Ah Fook, was appointed as Mejar Cina (Chinese Major) in September with the consent of Sultan Ibrahim.

His duty is to cooperate with YSIJ to coordinate, arrange and implement the distribution of food and essential items aid to Bangsa Johor.
