Batu Pahat town to go under CMCO, 16,000 residents affected [NSTTV]

PUTRAJAYA: Tongkah Pecah town in Batu Pahat, Johor will be placed under the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) for 14 days, from Nov 29 to Dec 13, following a surge in Covid-19 positive cases.

Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said 16,300 residents in four areas – Bandar Putera Indah, Lorong 7 until 10, Batu 7, and Kampung Mohd Nor – will be affected by the move.

The implementation of the CMCO, he said, will enable the Health Ministry to carry out targeted Covid-19 screening and reduce movement among the community in these areas.

"The CMCO SOP is the same as previously announced and for more information, the public can refer to the National Security Council's website," he told a press conference here today.

To date, he said, the Health Ministry has conducted 672 screening tests in the areas, with 56 positive cases recorded and 302 awaiting results.
