Interstate travel allowed from Monday [NSTTV]

KUALA LUMPUR: Interstate and interdistrict travel will be allowed beginning Monday, except for areas under the Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO).

Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said police would no longer set up roadblocks but would tighten checks on standard operating procedures (SOP) instead.

"We need to find a balance between improving our economy and our health. We know that by Dec 31, the Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO) will come to an end. But we do not know if there is a need to extend it or otherwise.

"Hence, several flexibilities have been agreed upon, including allowing interdistrict and interstate travels, except for areas under EMCO."
