Ismail Sabri: Long-distance couples can now travel interstate [NSTTV]

KUALA LUMPUR: Married couples living in different states may now cross state borders to meet up.

Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said they could start applying for police approval beginning tomorrow.

However, he discouraged those exhibiting coronavirus symptoms to travel.

"They may do swab test before making the interstate travel. We do not want them to endanger their family members," he said in a press conference today.

On whether the Movement Control Order (MCO) would be lifted, Ismail Sabri said the matter would be known before Feb 4.

He said the issue must must be carefully deliberated during meetings with the Health Ministry and other agencies.

"We will discuss and make the announcement before Feb 4," he said.
