Additional travel restrictions to Labuan extended

KUALA LUMPUR: The government has moved to extend the additional measures imposed on travelers entering Labuan until June 30, says Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.

The extra restrictions, which were in place to manage the Covid-19 pandemic, were initially scheduled to end June 9.

Ismail Sabri had last month announced that travelers entering Labuan would be required to undergo a mandatory Covid-19 test and quarantine.

Travelers must get themselves tested for the Covid-19 through RT-PCR testing three days before entering Labuan.

The quarantine duration is 10 days at home for Labuan residents, 10 days at home or at a hotel for civil servants, and 14 days at hotels for foreigners from abroad.
