KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia logged 5,793 new coronavirus cases today with Selangor continuing to lead other states with the most infections.
Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah on his Twitter account said Selangor registered 1,582 Covid-19 cases as of noon.
This is followed by Negri Sembilan at 618 cases, Sarawak (569), Kuala Lumpur (559) and Johor (504).
Other states with three-figure cases listed in the tweet were; Sabah (378), Kelantan (337), Labuan (250), Perak (218), Penang (198), Melaka (178), Kedah (171) and Pahang (121).
Only three states recorded a lower number of new infections with Terengganu reporting 82 cases followed by Putrajaya (23) and Perlis with five cases.
The total cumulative Covid-19 cases in the country is 652,204.
