SUNGAI BULOH: The Intensive Care Unit for Covid-19 patients at Sungai Buloh Hospital was previously a Burn Care Unit.
Now, it accommodates Stages 4 and 5 Covid-19 patients who are in critical condition and require breathing assistance.
At its entrance, a doa (prayer verse) greets people, who are limited to 30 doctors and nurses making their daily rounds and attending to the patients in full personal protective equipment.
The New Sunday Times was given access to the ICU ward on level five, which accommodated 10 patients.
Many of the patients are under a medically induced coma to help them recover faster.
