KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia surpassed the one million mark in Covid-19 cases, after recording another record high of 17,045 infections as of noon today.
This brings the cumulative number of positive cases to 1,013,438.
The country has recorded five-digit Covid-19 numbers daily since July 13, and has broken new daily highs for three days in a row since July 23.
Cases in Selangor continue to climb, recording 8,500 new infections as of noon today. Kuala Lumpur recorded 2,045 new cases.
Kedah saw a spike in cases, from 867 cases yesterday to 1,216 today.
Most states logged three-digit cases, including Johor (950), Sabah (818), Perak (609), Penang (573), Negri Sembilan (513), Pahang (424), Sarawak (407), Melaka (370), Terengganu (273), and Kelantan (266).
Putrajaya, Labuan and Perlis recorded 50, 21, and 10 cases respectively.
