KUALA LUMPUR: Thirty-one localities in Sabah, six Orang Asli villages in Kelantan and two localities in Pahang will come under Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO) for two weeks, starting Friday.
Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein, in a statement today, said the decision was taken after the Health Ministry presented the risk assessment and the Covid-19 infection trend in these localities.
In Sabah, 11 of the 31 localities in question are located in the Tuaran district. These are Kampung Betutai, Kampung Bolong Baru, Kampung Bontoi, Kampung Kindu, Kampung Lapasan, Kampung Serusop, Kampung Sungai Damit, Kampung Timbok, Kampung Simpangan, Taman Sri Rugading and Taman Telipok Ria.
In Sandakan, there are four localities: Flat LPPB Sri Taman; Lorong 1 - 8, Taman Kenari; Taman Mawar and Projek Perumahan Rakyat (PPR) Taman Murni.
Other localities in Sabah under EMCO are Apartment Taman Suria, Kampung Mangkadatan Notoruss and Taman Penampang Phase 2 in Penampang; Kampung Lahat-Lahat, Pulau Sebatik; Taman Perwira Ranggu and Blok 5 Kampung Titingan in Tawau; and, Ladang Bukit Mas and Ladang Linbar 1 in Kinabatangan.
Rounding up the list of areas under EMCO are Kampung Mamaitom and SKIM Kuala Tomani in Tenom; Kampung Meruntum Phase 3 and PPR Sri Keramat in Putatan; Kampung Talantang 1 in Kota Marudu; Country Heights Phase 2 and Phase 3 (including shoplots) in Penampang; and, Kampung Ayer in Kudat and Kampung Pengalat Besar in Papar.
Meanwhile, in Kelantan, six Orang Asli villages at Pos Brooke, Gua Musang, will be placed under EMCO.
The six villages are Kampung Cekau, Kampung Jedip WCT, Kampung Seng Sang, Kampung Lojing, Kampung Sendrop and Kampung Penangau.
The two localities in Pahang are Taman Amalina Lestari, Mukim Gali in Raub and Ladang Bukit Berembun, Mukim Keratong in Rompin.
Hishammuddin also said the EMCO at Blok Angsana and Blok Sumboisumboi in Kampung Seberang Benoni in Papar, Sabah, will be extended for another two weeks until Aug 12.
The EMCO in the locality was initially slated to end tomorrow.
Hishammuddin added that the EMCO in Kampung Lubak, Beaufort, Sabah ended earlier than scheduled today while the EMCO will end as scheduled tomorrow for Blok 2, Blok 6 and Blok 9, PPR Taman Mesra in Sandakan; Kampung Melamam, Sipitang and Kampung Landung Ayang in Kudat, Sabah.
